The Baker City Elks Lodge has been part of the fabric of this eastern Oregon community for generations. Situated on 2nd Street, the lodge is the kind of place where you walk in as a stranger and leave as a member of something larger than yourself. Reviewers consistently say they feel welcome and at home from the first visit, and that warmth is no accident. It is built deliberately, by staff and volunteers who show up because they genuinely care.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was founded in 1868 with a mission of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity, and this lodge carries that mission forward every single day in Baker County. From meaningful memorial services that honor lives well lived, to community events that draw families across the valley, the lodge is a gathering place that does real work. The volunteers here are the reason a 4.5-star rating holds steady across 58 reviews.

This is not a relic. It is an active, living institution where Oregon neighbors raise funds for veterans, youth programs, and local causes that matter. If you have been looking for a place to belong in Baker City, this is it.

What We Offer

The lodge offers a full calendar of events, programs, and member benefits that go well beyond a meeting room. Memorial and tribute services are held with dignity and care, as families in Baker City have come to expect. Social gatherings, fundraisers, and community dinners give members regular reasons to come through the door.

The volunteer programs here are among the most active in the region, channeling energy into veterans' support, scholarship funds for local youth, and charitable giving that stays right here in Baker County. Members gain access to lodge facilities for private events, and the staff makes every occasion feel personal rather than transactional.

For those considering membership, the process is straightforward and the community is genuinely welcoming. Whether you are a lifelong Elk or someone curious about joining for the first time, the Baker City lodge makes it easy to get involved at whatever level fits your life.

"I'm not sure if this place was rented out to the group of people I work with but everyone had such a great time and enjoyed themselves at the Halloween Dance Party. All I heard was, "I had a blast!" and "That was the best party I've ever been to!" We all had a great time! Thank you, Elkshorn Lodge!"

A Proud Heritage

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
